A food blog dedicated to sharing great food and books
Long story short, I love to read and I love to cook. I noticed that a lot of the books I was reading mentioned delicious meals and I thought it would be fun to make and eat the same food the characters were eating while reading their stories.
For the love of cheese
In addition to sharing great reads and eats, I’m on a quest to find a delectable vegan alternative to traditional cheese. I want to be up front about this because, while I’m pescatarian and into animal rights, I am NOT okay with food-shaming. If you love bacon, I respect that and I’m not here to preach or try to change your mind. You only live once and you have to do what’s right for you. Personally, I have an exceptionally unhealthy fondness for cheese but I’m not a fan of the way that dairy-industry animals are treated, so I’m looking for a healthy and equitable compromise—delicious cheese that doesn’t harm animals.

A note about the recipes
Aside from shellfish and the occasional shared sushi roll, I don’t eat meat. Therefore, if I come across a dish in a book that revolves around meat, I make an effort to find an acceptable way to substitute in something vegetable-based. For the meat lovers out there, rest assured that I’ll always include the true recipe in addition to my variation.
